My Web site Guestbook

Comments:
I first knew Marvin and Pawnee in the early 70s at Penn St. Church of Christ in Albuquerque. My name then was Susan Smith. My erstwhile spouse and I were in a small group that met in their home, and in a very short time we formed close bonds with them and several other couples. Marvin's book "Precious Encounter" had been published, and it was used as the foundation for forming those close friendships. After leaving Albuquerque, we saw Marvin and Pawnee several times over many years and miles (I have a few stories!) I would love to find a copy of "Precious Encounters" for a small group that I am starting, and that was actually what led me to find thid website.

1. If you do not at least say "Someone was here," I do not know if anyone has visited (at least say "Hi" "here" or something).
2. You do not have to fill in anything but name and I do not care if you just put "guest."
3. You just need to click on "Sign Guestbook" to be taken to the comments page.
4. Please let me know this site is being visited, so I'll know it's not just wasting space.

Admin reply: Dear Don & Doe,
You probably don't remember Pam and I visiting Park Forest while Dad and Mom lived there. Mom and Dad moved to Lincoln City, Oregon where Dad preached until he retired. Dad died a few years later. Mom is now living in Hood River, Oregon. We are going to see her in June and will probably stay for about 3 weeks. Mom doesn't look much older or act much older. I was up there 3 years ago and Mom decided it was time to sand and repaint the porch. I kept saying to myself while I was working with her "I can't quit until Mom does; I can't quit until Mom does." She will probably wind up outliving me!
Sorry I didn't reply before this. Other than a couple of friends when I first put the website up, no one has ever contacted me and I had quit checking the guestbook.
It's great to hear from ya'll. I hope you are doing well. Let me know if you want Mom's address/phone number.
In Him,
Gary

Forgot to comment on "what's in your safe".

Good read, however using tangible support to explain religious subjects scares me. I find it better for me to take it on faith. I do not want to routinely seek an answer this way and set a pattern. One day failing to find an answer may weaken my belief, at a time when I really want to strengthen my FAITH. Just me. If there is a mustard seed of faith in my safe, i'm good. Everything else is a bonus.
PS: The reading got me thinking, so it's a win.

Really enjoyed "Mister do you tie shoes"
I liked the way he put God the father on a more complex plane than us and sent his son Jesus to intercede. Maybe interpret, direct, guide us on what our heavenly Father had in mind for all of us who come to him.
Isn't there a verse something like, No man comes to the father except through Jesus?

Anyway there was much more, but I took that part and my own interpretation of what it meant to me as a take away.

I hope to hear from You! Tell me what you think of the website and the articles. Even if you disagree with what's said I hope the sermons Dad preached, his books and the lessons that have been posted will make you think.
